Dr. David Szymanski was born and grew up in the Northwest corner of Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1967 and his Master's degree in 1970 from Indiana University. He attended Temple University School of Dentistry from 1974-1978. He received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1992 and then his Master's in 1998.
Opening his dental office on the corner of Fifth Street and Montgomery Avenue in Boyertown, it served his needs very well until the office became overcrowded. It was then that he was able to negotiate with Dr. Harold Ackerman about moving in his office at 44 S. Chestnut Street. The rooms were functional and provided the staff with adequate space.
Over the course of several years, he was taking hours of continuing education courses, which led to his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. It requires 750+ hours of education and a written exam, which he took in 1991. The next award Dr. Szymanski received was his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998. This endeavor required an additional 500 hours of continuing education in the dental field and a presentation based on clinical materials. Although he has taken over 2000 hours of post-graduate hours of learning, he still continues to pursue more hours and research.
Dr. Szymanski and his wife, Dayle have been married for 40 years, since December 1969.
His future plans are to continue to take courses in dentistry that include laser treatments, dental implant restorations as well as new preventive dental studies. The dental field is expanding at an exponential rate and Dr. Szymanski feels that keeping up with innovations will help him treat his patients to a higher quality of dental care.
